John Lord grew up in Toomsboro, Georgia where he worked with his father managing a family manufacturing business.  He graduated in 1969 from Auburn University with a BS degree in Aviation Management and in 1970 with a BS degree in Marketing..  He was licensed to conduct securities business in 1985 when he opened the first Edward Jones office in Calhoun.  After five years he became an independent contractor with Raymond James Financial Services, and was with Wallstreet Electronica from 2003 to 2007.  John currently serves on the Small Business Committee with the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the first Gordon County Leadership class in 1988.  He is a past board member of the Gordon Hospital Foundation Broad and is currently a member of the Calhoun Golf Committee.  John holds Series 7, 24, 53, 63, and 66 as well as Life, Health and Variable insurance licenses.  In 2007 along with Jerry Dempsey and Ernest Smith, he formed Dempsey Lord Smith, LLC and is the Chief Compliance Officer.  Email him at john.lord@dempseyi.com
